(PRWEB) May 2, 2006 -- An 18-year-old Canadian entrepreneur is hoping to raise enough capital to start his own
business -- by selling 1 million pixels of advertisement space for $1 each on his website’s homepage.

Patrick Hankinson launched
www.richpixels.com after thinking of unique ways to get enough capital to start his own
business. Hankinson, who has a strong entrepreneurial background, explained that most people looking to start their own business usually take large loans from banks but he wanted to approach it at a different angle: “I’d been looking at different types of loans from
local banks and decided I needed an idea to make enough money to start my own business without taking out any big loans.”
A unique twist to his website is that it shows the profit the website has made, and the expenses related to gaining the profit. The website itself is created to show the business side of running this type of business.
At the time of writing, Hankinson’s total sales equate to over $1000, despite only recently launching the website.
Hankinson, who is hoping to raise enough money by September to start his own business, says that anyone can buy advertisement space and have it link to their own site. “Although this service will mostly appeal to businesses trying to get the word out about their services, and products there is room for people to place personal pictures which will link to their own personal websites, as well.”
He believes that over time the pixels will offer good value because all advertisements are kept online for 5 years and that it is such a unique idea he is hoping that word-of-mouth will control the destiny of his website.
