Small Town Poker Tour Announce Events to Benefit The North American Indigenous Games

(PRWEB) May 1, 2006 -- The Small Town Poker Tour(STPT) announced today a series of Texas Hold ‘Em poker tournaments at Indian casinos across the country. Proceeds from the tournaments will benefit the North American Indigenous Games.

The Tour will be conducted exclusively in Native American casinos throughout the United States. “With the immense popularity of poker, it was a natural for us to join forces with the Small Town Poker Tour to raise much needed funding for this noble cause,” stated Gene Keluche, Co-Founder and Chairman of the Native American Sports Council. Mark Fracalossi, Executive Producer of the STPT added, “This is what the STPT is all about – a great game and great causes. In Canada the games are funded by the government, but in the U.S. they rely solely on private funding from individuals and participating tribes”.

In addition to cash payouts, the STPT will offer a seat to the WSOP Main Event plus travel expenses. The schedule of events is expected within the next few weeks. It will be posted online at www.smalltownpokertour.com. Players interested in the tour can call or visit their local Native American casino or register to play at the STPT web site.

Approximately 6,000 to 8,000 athletes and 40,000 to 50,000 family members and spectators are expected to take part in this eight-day event.
