(PRWEB) May 2, 2006 -- Chatsby Films, the multi-award winning Production Company founded by Adam Matalon and Kevin Burke, is proud to announce that it’s independent film comedy, “Sex and Camping”, is an official selection of the Cannes Film Festival Short Films Corner. Though not yet an Olympic sport, Chatsby Films will be introducing “Sex & Camping” to the world in 2006.

Directed by Adam Matalon and produced and co-written by Kevin Burke and Adam Matalon, the screwball romantic comedy was shot on location during the summer of 2005 in Westchester & Putnam Counties, NY.
“The production came together very quickly,” said Kevin Burke, VP of Chatsby Films who also served as the Director of Photography. In just six weeks, Matalon and Burke wrote the script, lined up the crew, found their cast, and had the 38-minute short in the Cannes.
Production value was key to the success of the film. The filmmakers kept themselves on a tight leash as far as the budget was concerned “However the production values were very much higher because of the wealth of technical talent at our fingertips. The script made everyone laugh, and many people waived their normal fees because they were excited to be involved,” said Adam Matalon, who is President of Chatsby Films. The digital film was shot on the Panasonic SDX900 with Canon prime lenses and allowed the company to experiment with a work flow they will use on a full length feature in the near future. The production enjoyed great support from both the Screen Actors Guild, who provided an experimental contract, which allowed the company to use young but experienced professional actors, and The Directors Guild of America, of which Matalon is a member.
In May, the company’s managing partners Kevin Burke, Adam Matalon, and Sarah Matalon, who manages the company’s
office presence in Paris, will be attending Le Marche Du Film in Cannes with both this film and three feature film scripts that the company is currently developing (“Love’s A Drag,” “The Goose’s Garden” and “My Sister Bites”).

While in Cannes, Chatsby Films will also be promoting “Seasons In The Valley”, a feature documentary currently in post-production, which investigates the symbiotic relationship between the Jamaican men who pick the apples in New York’s Hudson Valley and the orchard owners who grow them.
The company is currently in production on two separate projects for the multi Emmy Award winning Sesame Street.
