(PRWEB) August 31, 2006 -- Main Street Blue Island is raffling off a gourmet dinner for eight to be held at the historic Dr. Aaron Heimbach
home. The
home was designed by Bertrand Goldberg, architect of Marina City, River City and the Prentice Women’s Hospital all in Chicago, in 1939 for Dr. Aaron Heimbach. The International Style home is an early work of Goldberg and is one of the few designs of his in this style of architecture.
The dinner will include cocktails, appetizers, soup, salad, dinner and dessert served by members of the Main Street Blue Island board and volunteers. The winner and seven of their guests will be treated to first class service and a private tour of the home. The home owners, Tom Hawley and Tom Mantel, have been lovingly restoring the home for almost nine years. The home originally was the residence and doctor
office for Dr. Heimbach. The original look and feel of the home has been kept with updates for today’s modern conveniences.
