(PRWEB) August 31, 2006 -- Kathy Jarvis is number one in 100% of her National Rally America runs. On Friday 25TH and Saturday 26TH, coming off a first place finish in Maine, Production VW racer Kathy Jarvis won her second 1st Place finish in her second national Rally America event at Ojibwe Forest, Bemidji, MN. “I couldn’t have finished without the HELLA driving lights,” commented Kathy while sipping champagne in the winner’s circle. She now preps for a hat trick at Colorado Cog Rally in late September.
“ Glowing brake disks and intense rally lights make watching rallying at night a surreal experience. ”
Kathy Jarvis has been a stunt professional for the past 13 years in the feature film and television industry. Her mission is to empower women to expand their horizons and to pursue their dreams. She is one of the top women stunt performers and considered one of the very best drivers. She has performed many high-risk vehicle stunts: including crashes, burns and turning over a completely flame-engulfed Chevy Suburban. She has crashed through buildings and into glass atria. She performed car chases for the Italian Job and She has deliberately (and safely) hit people, and slid sideways into, over and along the side cameras and crew.
Though she crashes for camera, she keeps it on the road and shiny side up in the national Rally America series. Last month in her first national competition she placed 1st and is looking to repeat it.
The Ojibwe Forest Rally is described by the organizers, as “Technically challenging, yet effortlessly fluid roads make this event a favorite for drivers. Located in northern Minnesota's lake and vacation country, a large portion of the rally occurs after dusk, which makes for some great nighttime spectating. Glowing brake disks and intense rally lights make watching rallying at night a surreal experience. This course features smooth, fast, and open roads that can be soft and sandy in spots.”
Kathy said the roads are her favorite so far, “however, there is nothing smooth about them and the sand is deep when you are running a two-wheel drive car after the fast 4 wheel drive ditch hooking monsters in front of you.” But I liked it, it was challenging with all the nighttime stages but the Hella lights are great and my Golf loved all those turns!” Kathy says she will definitely be back next year!
