(PRLEAP.COM) Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam – Expatriate American author Gary Dale Cearley takes his writing and his politics seriously. This should be most prevalent in an upcoming book about the life of a libertarian icon which he plans to be publishing soon.
“One of the great political influences on my life has been Lysander Spooner,” said Cearley, “This man is why I am a libertarian today. As a writer I hope to help ‘Ole Lysander’, get better known in today’s world.”
Gary Dale Cearley was introduced to the Spooner tract “No Treason” by a shipmate a few decades ago when he was servicing aboard the USS Arkansas. He read it voraciously and absorbed the ideas within. Cearley took up voting for Libertarian Party candidates and supporting libertarian causes. He even formed an expatriate group for American libertarians called “Libertarians Abroad”. Now, long since leaving the navy, Cearley is working on finishing up the publication of his biography of Spooner.
“Lysander Spooner should have a much higher ranking in American politcal philosphers,” said Cearley, “I rank him up there with Thomas Jefferson. Of course Jefferson is much, much better known because he was a president and a founding father. But based on his political wisdom and new ideas, Lysander Spooner should be far better known. Libertarian thinkers owe both men a great debt.”
Lysander Spooner, a descendant of early Puritan settlers in Massachusetts, was a well known political thinker in the mid-1800’s. Spooner was a early abolitionist and espoused ideas that would even now be considered radical by most American standards. He was also well known for having taken on the United States postal monopoly – a battle which he sorely lost.
Gary Dale Cearley is an expatriate author who has lived in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, for many years. His first published book, “Thou Shalt Not Bear False Witness: The Truth About the Vatican and the Birth of Islam”, is a refutation of Jack Chick’s and Alberto Rivera’s Vatican Islam Conspiracy, which is also being propagated by David Icke. It is available through Aux Arcs Publications’s website. It is also available on Amazon.com (Amazon.co.uk, Amazon.ca, Amazon.de, etc.), Barnes & Noble, and Books-A-Million. Cearley recently also recently published a collection of what he calls “raw stories”, humorous naughty jokes told as stories in a colloquial tone. Gary Dale originally hails from the small town of Prescott, Arkansas.
