Naterra Land recently surveyed 227 adult Minnesotans, Wisconsinites and Illinoisans about their summer vacationing habits. The survey revealed that the majority of these Midwesterners liked to spend some of their vacations on waterfront property.
“No matter whether they buy waterfront real estate or just rent it, Midwesterners are set on vacationing by the water,” said Scott Bryden, Online Marketing Manager at Naterra Land.
Naterra Land’s survey showed a significant interest in water related sports. 25% of Wisconsinites said their favorite vacation activity was boating and swimming, while 20% chose fishing and 5% opted for water sports.
Fishing was the number one preferred vacation activity for Minnesotans, registering 30% of the survey results, while 19% chose boating and swimming and 2.6% opting for water sports.
As for Illinoisans, 40% said their top vacation memory was enjoying a relaxing moment, watching the sun set over the lake. Watching the kids grow up and sitting around the campfire with friends were also popular responses.
“With the Great Lakes bordering both Minnesota and Wisconsin, it is hardly surprising that its residents wish to vacation at lakefront property,” said Bryden. “Because lakefront vacations are so popular, demand for lakefront real estate is significant. Finding your ideal place can require some effort and can also be a lot of fun.”
