(PRWEB) April 6, 2006 -- Bruins, golf enthusiasts and friends will gather on April 13, 2006 at 5:30 p.m. at the Tee Off Party for the Sixth Annual UCLA Orange County Golf Classic, A Fundraiser for Outstanding Students and the UCLA Fund. The Tee Off Party is a casual and fun celebration in anticipation of this year’s UCLA Orange County Golf Classic, a signature tournament which has given $50,000 to scholars and the UCLA Fund since its inception. Individuals who are interested meeting other OC Bruins and those who want to volunteer at the golf tournament are invited to attend the Tee Off Party at no charge.

For the sixth consecutive year, the UCLA Alumni Association and the UCLA Fund/Chancellor’s Associates will jointly present the UCLA Orange County Golf Classic. This year’s UCLA Orange County Golf Classic will be held on Monday, May 22, 2006 at the Marbella Country Club in San Juan Capistrano, a new venue for this annual event. Approximately 150 golfers are expected to play at the tournament, whose roster has included Dan Guerrero, Chris Roberts and Ann Myers-Drysdale to name a few. The eventful day culminates with a dinner which features a silent auction and an active live auction.

The goals of the UCLA Orange County Golf Classic are: (1) to generate funds to create scholarship endowments benefiting UCLA’s most deserving students from Orange County; (2) to raise money for crucial unrestricted funds that help allow Chancellor Albert Carnesale to meet campus priorities and (3) to provide an afternoon of fun and camaraderie with other Orange County Bruins.
