Orchard Supply Hardware of San Jose, a
home improvement and garden retail chain, appointed Martin Hodgett chief information officer. Hodgett served at Accenture for 20 years, most recently as a senior partner.
Viking Systems, Inc., a designer, manufacturer and marketer of 3-D vision systems for use in minimally invasive surgical (MIS) procedures, has appointed Brian Miller to the Company's Board of Directors. Mr. Miller, 56, will be replacing Ron Walrod, who has resigned to pursue other personal and professional opportunities. Mr. Miller brings to Viking's Board several years of experience in sales, marketing and strategic alliances. Mr. Miller was previously with Accenture for 28 years, one of the world's largest global management consulting firms, where he focused much of his career on creating the firm's Customer Relationship Management (CRM) practice. In this role, Mr. Miller worked with some of the largest
companies in the world, including Disney, Quaker, Wyeth Pharmaceutical, and several others, on developing effective sales and marketing strategies.
Danish online investment bank Saxo has hired UBS IT executive Tobias Straessle to manage its technology strategy. Straessle joins Saxo after a 16-year career in global senior IT executive roles with UBS Investment Bank. Prior to this Straessle worked broadly as a consultant in the European financial services industry, primarily at Accenture where he was instrumental in developing the world's first fully electronic derivatives exchange which subsequently became Eurex.
